Since our “soft opening” in the last weekend of March 2016, the Electriquette Motor Cart Company has been pleased with the reaction of visitors to Balboa Park. People love the carts; they enjoy the ride and are happy that a part of San Diego’s history has been returned.
We’ve also been pleased to receive recognition for our project:
San Diego’s Save Our Heritage Organisation awarded Sandor Shapery, the force behind our project, with a People in Preservation 2016 award.
The City of San Diego’s Historical Resource Board honored the Electriquette Motor Cart Company with a “Community” award for Historical Preservation.
The California Preservation Foundation Awards (the PDA’s) is one of the most prestigious awards in historic preservation in the country. The Electriquette Motor Cart Company is pleased to be a winner for 2016.
And now Mayor Kevin Faulconer has proclaimed August 14th ELECTRIQUETTE DAY for the City of San Diego.
We’ll be celebrating this and all of our honors on our very own day, Sunday, August 14th with special activities, contests, photo opportunies and drawings.
Find out more about our plans for the day at our Facebook Events Page.
